The Azania Flour Mill has been awarded an International Standard Organisation (ISO) certificate by ACM – a certifying body -for successfully implementing the ISO 9001 quality management system in its production.<\/p>\n

Mikoani Traders Limited, a producer of Azania wheat flour, started the implementation of quality management system last year and was assessed by the managing director of ACM Ltd Mr Andrew Rowe who also guided and corrected the company in the implementation process.<\/p>\n

ACM Ltd, an international registrar of standards, presented the certificate to assure the consumers that the company had taken all necessary steps to guarantee quality of wheat flour it produces.<\/p>\n

“A company cannot afford to compete on price alone. Consumers demand quality products at a fair price and ISO 9001 gives the consumers the satisfaction and assurance that the company has taken every reasonable step to ensure the consistence and quality of its product and service delivered,” said Mr Rowe.Mr Rowe also challenged other Tanzanian companies to rise to the same international standards.<\/p>\n

The miller manager Mr Joseph Mwangi said the company had achieved many things since it started the implementation of quality management system notably culture change within the organisation, clean environment, improved infrastructure and good manufacturing process.<\/p>\n

“Quality management system is built on continuous improvement principle. It is therefore our hope that we will continue with many activities for improvement we have planned in order to maintain and exceed our customer satisfaction,” added Mr Mwangi.<\/p>\n

Azania wheat flour is distributed in almost all regions of Tanzania and in some parts of Kenya, Uganda and Burundi.The marketing manager Mr Mohamed Bashrahil said the company had enlisted new products in production line which would be launched soon.<\/p>\n

“Our continued commitment, creative strategies and focus on our goals have also realised market expansion within the country and penetration across international borders.<\/p>\n

“Those values have also precipitated accepted quality standards of our products as well as service delivery,” emphasised Mr Bashrahil.<\/p>\n
