First it was theatre director Sir Trevor Nunn who took centre stage, with reports that he was romancing Nancy Dell\u2019Olio, apparently behind his wife\u2019s back.<\/p>\n

But yesterday\u00a0 the other leading lady in this domestic drama stepped into the spotlight \u2013 Lady Nunn, better known as actress Imogen Stubbs.<\/p>\n

After previously denying the marriage was over, she admitted yesterday that she and her husband have separated after 21 years together and said she has a new partner.<\/p>\n

Confirmation of their break-up came on the same weekend that Sir Trevor was seen at his cottage in Cornwall with Miss Dell\u2019Olio, ex-girlfriend of former England football manager Sven Goran Eriksson.<\/p>\n

Miss Stubbs, 50, told the Daily Mail: \u2018After 21 wonderful years together, very sadly Trevor and I are separating.<\/p>\n

\u2018There has been someone else in my life for a while. The testament to our friendship and respect for each other is the dignity with which Trevor has dealt with this knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u2018I am happy about any new friendships he is forging, but for the sake of the people that this does actually concern, we would appreciate privacy. Our friends and family have been understanding and supportive and we ask them to continue to be so.\u2019<\/p>\n

Miss Stubbs remained tight-lipped about the identity of her new partner.<\/p>\n

Sir Trevor, 71, and Italian Miss Dell\u2019Olio, 49, have been friends since 2004 when they met during his production of Hamlet at the Old Vic theatre. Holidaymakers claim to have seen the pair kissing on a budget Flybe flight to Newquay on Thursday and say they were spotted dining together at Jamie Oliver\u2019s Fifteen restaurant in Watergate Bay, Cornwall.<\/p>\n

Air passengers say they were stunned when the couple, seated in row eight, started kissing shortly after take-off.<\/p>\n

One passenger added: \u2018Nancy asked for the wine list, which made the air stewardess laugh because it\u2019s a budget flight. Once they had their drinks they seemed quite engrossed in one another. They were kissing and very cuddly together and didn\u2019t seem to care who was watching them.\u2019<\/p>\n

A source told The Mail on Sunday: \u2018Trevor is totally smitten with Nancy. They started seeing each other very recently and they are very happy.\u00a0 Trevor\u2019s marriage broke down a year ago. He was heartbroken when Imogen said she wanted a divorce. She left him and Imogen is now seeing someone else, which devastated Trevor.\u2019<\/p>\n

Miss Dell\u2019Olio declined to comment when asked about a romance.<\/p>\n

Speaking at his \u00a3750,000 cliff-top cottage in Mawgan Porth, Sir Trevor said the couple were with a big group of friends at the property. However, there was only one car parked in the driveway.<\/p>\n

Property lawyer Miss Dell\u2019Olio is establishing a career as a TV presenter and is an ambassador for the football charity Truce.<\/p>\n

She began her relationship with Sven Goran Eriksson in 1998 when he was manager of Italian football team Lazio and she was still married to her husband Giancarlo.<\/p>\n

But in early 2002 it was revealed that Eriksson had been cheating on her with his fellow Swede, television presenter Ulrika Jonsson. Eriksson and Miss Dell\u2019Olio eventually split in August 2007 after he moved to Manchester City.<\/p>\n

Sir Trevor has been married three times, each time to an actress, and has five children. His first wife was Janet Suzman, whom he met in 1968. They were together for nine years and had a son, Joshua.<\/p>\n

By the time their divorce was finalised he was seeing Sharon Lee Hill, who became his second wife in 1986. In 1990 she announced that their marriage would be ending in divorce and the couple became involved in a legal battle over their daughters Laurie and Amy.<\/p>\n

Sir Trevor and Miss Stubbs married in 1994, by which time she had already given birth to their daughter Ellie. The actress had their second child, Jesse, in 1996.<\/p>\n

Sir Trevor\u2019s spokesman said: \u2018He is enjoying an Easter weekend with a small group of friends.\u2019<\/p>\n
