Our client is the foremost energy marketer in Ghana.<\/p>\n

The position is responsible for the entire accounting function of the Company including Forecasting, Planning and Budgeting. The job involves liaising effectively with industry regulators and ensuring that their financial and other information requests are met promptly. \u00a0There is a definite preference for female candidates.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintaining and updating the company\u2019s books of accounts<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You will ensure that receipts, invoices and other relevant documents are maintained to support all financial transactions<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Review and approve expenditures for payment<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure that complete, accurate, and up-to-date accounting records are maintained at all times to support the preparation of reliable financial statements<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Supervise the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Payroll processing and the filing of statutory returns<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Supervise monthly close processes<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure that the\u00a0fixed assets register is updated at all times with all equipment purchases<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Assist in monitoring, evaluating and implementing internal control processes and procedures<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Preparing annual financial statements and monthly performance reports<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Liaising with external auditors for the conduct of financial statement audits<\/p>\n

Educational Requirements and Work Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A first degree in Accounting or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A minimum of 6 years relevant work experience. Big 4 experience is an added advantage<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Must be a chartered accountant with any of the professional accounting bodies \u2013 ACCA, ICA, CIMA<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The applicant must be proficient in the use of MS office suite \u2013 especially Excel<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Must have experience in the use of an accounting package. Knowledge of Sage Pastel will be a plus<\/p>\n

\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Self-driven, and ability to work effectively under pressure<\/p>\n
