She has kept her private life under wraps recently, with no mention that there might be a new man in her life.

But it looks as though things may be good on the romantic front for EastEnders star Jessie Wallace.

The actress, 39, was spotted sporting a ring on her engagement finger as she and co-star Shane Richie filled up their cars at a Hertfordshire garage – sparking speculation that Jessie may be about to walk up the aisle.

"Something

Something to tell us? Jessie Wallace appeared to be sporting a ring on her engagement finger as she and EastEnders co star Shane Richie filled up their cars at a petrol station

According to the News Of The World, the actress has been seeing her current boyfriend – who has not been named – since last summer and sources said he proposed earlier this month.

"Under

Under wraps: While the actress may be wearing a ring, she has remained tight-lipped about her private life

‘Things really intensified for them over Christmas,’ a source told the paper.

And the Daily Star Sunday also reported that Jessie was indeed engaged – but that the name of her fiancé had remained a secret.

Jessie really couldn’t be happier or more settled at the moment.,’ an insider said.

‘Her personal life was always very public, which made it all extremely difficult when her relationships didn’t work out.’

‘She is determined not to let anything spoil what she has with her latest man,’ the insider added.

‘She’s decided to keep him all to herself. She has no intention of bringing him into the limelight.’

The actress’ screen alter ego Kat Moon has recently been seen in some emotional scenes as the controversial EastEnders’ baby swap storyline finally came to an end.

Kat and screen husband Alfie, played by Shane Richie, had been grieving for their son Tommy since the New Year, when Ronnie Branning (Samantha Womack) swapped the dead body of her own baby James for their baby.

But four months later, Ronnie finally confessed what she had done before handing herself into police – leading to her imprisonment for the crime.

Jessie recently admitted that suddenly have their son back ‘won’t be easy for Kat and Alfie’.

She said it would be a struggle for Kat to go from a grieving woman to suddenly caring for a baby after missing out on months of important bonding.

The controversial EastEnders storyline sparked more than 8,400 complaints to Ofcom.

"Reunited:
