He stayed in the fairway enough on Friday to shoot a bogey-free 65, so far the low round of the day, and move to 8 under and into a tie for the lead.<\/p>\n<p>It hasn\u2019t been easy. Harbour Town is noted for demanding a straight tee shot of 260-280 yards, and that is way off Day\u2019s game. As one of the game\u2019s longer hitters, he\u2019s had to rely on his 3-wood, and he\u2019s been spraying it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Obviously if you\u2019re not hitting a 3 wood well, it makes it very, very tough,&#8221; Day said. &#8220;So it\u2019s not so much changing the rhythm. Obviously, before this tournament you\u2019ve got to practice a lot of 3 woods, a lot of 280-yard shots.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Day has hit just 40 percent of his fairways through two rounds, but his iron play and putting has bailed him out. The ninth hole Friday was a good example: He blew his ball left and had to hit a provisional.
