The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo)says it has restored power to the Electricity Company of Ghana after repairing the fault that occurred at the Achimota Sub-Station on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

A statement signed by Mr Albert Quainoo, Head of Public Relations
of GRIDCo said: \u201cGhana Grid Company Limited wishes to inform the
general public that the fault which occurred at the Achimota
Sub-Station last night has been rectified and supply of electricity to
the Electricity Company of Ghana has been restored.\u201d<\/p>\n

GRIDCo said the loss of electricity supply to parts of Accra and
its environs on Wednesday night was as a result of \u201ca blast on
critical equipment\u201d at the Achimota Sub-Station.<\/p>\n

It said the blast took out of service one of the transformers at
the sub-station resulting in the loss of supply to the Electricity
Company of Ghana (ECG).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
