Hassan Ayariga, aspiring presidential candidate of the People\u2019s National Convention (PNC) has asked Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama, the party\u2019s four time flag bearer to step aside and allow the youth to take up the mantle of leading the party to victory in 2012.<\/p>\n
He said Dr. Edward Mahama\u2019s days of being the PNC flag bearer were over for which reason he should drop his Presidential ambition and rally behind him (Hassan Ayariga) to achieve the dream of winning the highest office in the land.<\/p>\n
Hassan Ayariga, the elderly brother of Deputy Education Minister Mahama Ayariga, was addressing PNC northern regional executives, delegates and party supporters in Tamale as part of his two day campaign tour of the northern region.<\/p>\n
To him, the Ghanaian electorates were fed up with the NPP and the NDC style of governance and believe the PNC will be the best alternative in 2012 under his leadership. Hassan Ayariga debunked the notion that the PNC was for the elderly and promised to make it attractive to the youth.<\/p>\n
On the issue of the PNC and the CPP merging to contest the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, he expressed his willingness to accept such a move so long as it is in the collective interest of all party members.<\/p>\n
Hassan Ayariga mentioned youth employment, agricultural transformation, Free Compulsory Basic Education and women\u2019s empowerment as some of the thematic areas his PNC administration will focus on.<\/p>\n
The PNC northern regional Secretary, Amuda Kassim hinted that the party will take advantage of what he described as the deepening cracks in the ruling NDC to win the 2012 general elections.<\/p>\n
Amuda Kassim declared his intention to contest the Tamale central constituency seat on the ticket of the PNC in 2012 and assured party supporters that he will unseat the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament, Hon. Inusah Fuseini.<\/p>\n
He cautioned politicians against dividing Dagombas on Abudu and Andani lines and challenged them to adopt practices that will improve the living conditions of the people of Dagbon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
