Tottenham want Manchester City’s rearranged league match against Stoke brought forward by the Premier League.

The game was set for 14 May but with the pair meeting in the FA Cup final that day, it has been moved to 17 May.

A Stoke win or draw would help Spurs in their battle with Manchester City to qualify for the Champions League through their top-flight position.

But the Potters will qualify for Europe as FA Cup runners-up if Manchester City finish in the top four.

“I think they the authorities should look at it,” said Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.

“The chairman spoke to me last night about it. We feel it should be changed – but it’s a bit out of my hands.”

City are currently fourth in the league, one place and three points ahead of Spurs, though they have played a game more than the London club.

Tottenham have seven Premier League games remaining this season, starting with Wednesday night’s clash against north London rivals Arsenal.

Redknapp’s side also have a trip to Eastlands to face Manchester City on 10 May as well as games against close rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.
