LESS than 48 hours to tomorrow\u2019s National Assembly election, the issue of who is the authentic candidate of APGA for Abia Central senatorial district is still in controversy.<\/p>\n

While Chioma Ogbuehi was given the party\u2019s flag by the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, in Aba a forthnight ago and re-endorsed on Wednesday in Umuahia by the party\u2019s governorship candidate at the party\u2019s rallies, her name was conspicuously absent in INEC list in Umuahia headquarters of the commission.<\/p>\n

Rather, the name of\u00a0 Kingsley Uzoma Anamah was displayed in the commission\u2019s office as the candidate of APGA in Abia Central for tomorrow\u2019s election, an action which has brought confusion among the supporters in the zone, said to be rooting for Ogbuehi.<\/p>\n

When contacted, INEC Public Affair s Director, Mr. Edwin Enabor, confirmed that the name they had was that of Anamah, which he said was sent from the commission\u2019s headquarters in Abuja.<\/p>\n

But a document from the national headquarters of APGA gives a contrary position, as the party insists Ogbuehi remained its recognized candidate for the election in the zone and urged the supporters to vote for her.<\/p>\n

A letter dated March 16, 2011, signed by both the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, and National Secretary, Alhaji Sani Abdullah Shinkafi, and sent to Prof. Attahiru Jega, INEC chairman, confirmed Chioma Ogbuehi as the candidate for the Abia Central zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wish to confirm that Barrister Chioma ogbuehi is our nominated candidate for Abia State Central senatorial district. She replaced Barrister Uzoma K. Anamah,\u201d APGA stated in the letter.<\/p>\n
