\"\"<\/a>The Juabeso District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ofori Donkor has advised passengers who sit on front seats of vehicles to abstain from engaging the drivers in prolonged conversation or having unnecessary arguments.<\/p>\n

He said this practice could divert driver\u2019s attention and result in avoidable accidents.<\/p>\n

DSP Donkor said this when speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Juabeso on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He said most of the road accidents recorded in the area were due to over-speeding, overloading, rickety vehicles, drunk driving and wrong overtaking.<\/p>\n

DSP Donkor said that, the road network in the area was not the best and therefore, advised drivers to drive carefully to prevent accidents.<\/p>\n

He said human error constituted 90% of road accidents in the country.<\/p>\n

DSP Donkor also cautioned drivers to desist from using mobile phones when driving and urged them to observe the road signs.<\/p>\n

He suggested that Ghana Education Service (GES) should introduce road safety into curriculum of schools to enable pupils to be educated on road safety measures and how to use roads.<\/p>\n
