Brad Friedel has dismissed suggestions of a player revolt against Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier.\n<\/p>\n

Reports had indicated that veteran goalkeeper Friedel was one of several players unhappy about new rules allegedly brought in by Houllier.<\/p>\n

It was claimed that guidelines such as the banning of mobile phones in the dressing room were causing friction in the camp.<\/p>\n

However, the American has now made it clear that nothing could be further from the truth, stating the vast majority of rules set out for the players to adhere to have been in force for many years.<\/p>\n

“There has been a set of rules here for as long as I have been at the club as there is at every club and probably most, if not all, work environments,” said Friedel.<\/p>\n

Laughable<\/h4>\n

“The suggestion that I am in revolt – or any player is in revolt – over new rules is laughable.<\/p>\n

“There are no new rules of any substance that I am aware of and the vast majority of what is in the rule book was agreed years ago.”<\/p>\n

Friedel also had words of reassurance for the fans as he stressed that he remains happy at Villa.<\/p>\n

“Supporters need to know there is nothing in this story,” he added.<\/p>\n

“I’m committed to the club and our objectives and I’ve trained all week with my team-mates who are not involved in the internationals.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
