<\/p>\n Barcelona<\/a> midfielder Seydou Keita<\/a> is hopeful that the club can emulate their achievement of 2008-09 by winning the treble again this season.<\/p>\nThe Blaugrana won the Spanish Primera Division title, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in Pep Guardiola’s first full season in charge of the club, becoming the first Spanish club to achieve the feat.<\/p>\n
This season Barcelona have the chance to win all three trophies once more as they are five points clear at the top of La Liga, take on arch-rivals Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey in April and are also into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.<\/p>\n
Keita, who joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008, is hopeful of winning all three competitions but is aware that it will be a tough task.<\/p>\n
“We are footballers and our ambition is to win everything, but that\u2019s easier said than done as we found out the first year,” said the 31-year-old in an interview with Barca TV<\/em>. “Now we have to do it again but there are lots of games still to go. <\/p>\n“The league is a season-long task, and the best team always wins, but the cup and Champions League are won by the little things. But I have to say we are working hard, and with a little luck we can do big things.” <\/p>\n
Explaining his personal achievement and contentment at Camp Nou, the Mali international enthused:\u00a0 “I am as ambitious as anyone and I want to play as much as I can, but I know I\u2019m playing for the best team in the world. <\/p>\n
“There are more than 11 players in a football team, and if the boss says I\u2019m just playing 15 minutes, then I have to do the best I can. Sometimes we footballers can be a bit selfish, but I try to help my team-mates whether I play or not. I am there to help because if we end up winning, then everybody is happy.”<\/p>\n
Barcelona face the prospect of taking on Real Madrid four times between now and the end of the season, once in the league, once in the Copa final and twice in the semi-finals of the Champions League should both sides reach that stage.<\/p>\n
Keita, though, is undaunted by the prospect of tackling Jose Mourinho’s men, and said: “Well, we both have two games before that, so let\u2019s see what happens. For now, it\u2019s more important to worry about the first game ahead of us and take things as they come. <\/p>\n
“There will be time later to think about Madrid. Although we have won the last five clasicos, it won\u2019t be easy to play them.”<\/p>\n
Keita is currently placed 267th in the Castrol Rankings.<\/a><\/p>\nBarca take on Shakhtar Donetsk in the last eight of the Champions League, with the winners facing either Real Madrid or Tottenham Hotspur.<\/p>\n
