CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)\u2014Boris Diaw<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> scored 20 points, Stephen Jackson<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> added 19
\ndespite a sore hamstring, and the Charlotte Bobcats<\/a> provided more misery for the
\nslumping New York Knicks<\/a> with a 114-106 victory Saturday night to complete an
\nimpressive two-day stretch.<\/p>\n

A night after a stunning comeback win in Boston, the Bobcats sent the Knicks
\nto their sixth straight loss despite 36 points from Carmelo Anthony<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> to remain in
\ncontention for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats built a 20-point third-quarter lead and withstood an
\nAnthony-fueled rally that got New York within 110-106 with 1:34 left. The Knicks
\ndidn\u2019t score again to fall to 7-12 since acquiring Anthony and Chauncey Billups<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\nlast month.<\/p>\n

Landry Fields<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> added 16 points in a new role coming off the bench for New
\nYork. But he and Billups, who had 14 points and 10 assists on 6-of-16 shooting,
\nmissed jumpers late as the Knicks lost for the ninth time in 10 games amid woes
\non both ends of the floor.<\/p>\n

Charlotte, the NBA\u2019s second-lowest scoring team coming in at 92.8 points a
\ngame, shot 47 percent and held a 46-39 rebounding advantage. The Bobcats entered
\nthe night two games behind Indiana for eighth place in the East.<\/p>\n

The Knicks, who once appeared a lock for the postseason, shot 40 percent and
\nsaw their lead over Charlotte fall to 4 1\/2 games.<\/p>\n

Jackson, hobbled by a strained left hamstring that\u2019s left him in and out of
\nthe lineup for the past month, had a key tip in and a layup late despite picking
\nup his 15th technical foul in an uneven performance.<\/p>\n

But seven other players reached double figures for the Bobcats, who rallied
\nfrom 13 points down in the fourth quarter in Boston on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Knicks are going in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n

With coach Mike D\u2019Antoni saying his team lacks \u201cpizazz,\u201d he made lineup
\nchanges to try to jump-start New York\u2019s struggling offense. Center Ronny Turiaf<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\n(ankle) was sidelined and Fields was sent to the bench for a smaller, quicker
\nlineup.<\/p>\n

Toney Douglas<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> joined Billups in the backcourt and got the defensive
\nassignment on Charlotte point guard D.J. Augustin<\/a>(notes)<\/a>.<\/span> D\u2019Antoni said it wasn\u2019t an
\nindictment on Fields, but that they needed \u201cmore speed\u201d in the lineup and
\nsomebody to \u201chound Augustin a little bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shawne Williams<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> also moved into the starting lineup, and while the Knicks
\nshowed spark early on offense, they allowed the Bobcats to score almost at will.<\/p>\n

Charlotte had a season-high 64 points at halftime in building a 13-point
\nlead littered with open looks and second-chance points.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Antoni started Fields and Shelden Williams<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> to start the second half, but
\nthe Bobcats\u2019 lead soon swelled to 75-55 on Diaw\u2019s 3-pointer.<\/p>\n

The combustible Jackson then helped the Knicks get back in it.<\/p>\n

Jackson, who went more than a month since his last technical foul, got his
\n15th and moved within one of an automatic suspension. Referee Dan Crawford had
\nno other choice when Jackson punched the air and yelled after no foul was called
\non his missed shot.<\/p>\n

As has been his custom since taking over from Larry Brown, coach Paul Silas
\nimmediately yanked Jackson. Anthony then got hot and Jackson tossed up two bad
\nshots\u2014one an airball\u2014when he returned as the Knicks got within 10 points.<\/p>\n

Anthony, who hit 13 of 25 shots, hit consecutive 3-pointers to fuel the
\nKnicks\u2019 fourth-quarter spurt that proved to not be enough even against a
\nbanged-up team.<\/p>\n

The Bobcats played a second straight game without sixth man Tyrus Thomas<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\n(bruised ribs), and Joel Przybilla<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> (knee) and Eduardo Najera<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> (shoulder) were
\nalso out.<\/p>\n

Notes: Bobcats assistant Charles Oakley missed his third straight game and
\nSilas said he\u2019ll undergo a procedure next week for his back injury. Silas
\nexpects Oakley to miss another week. \u2026 Ex-Bobcats F Derrick Brown<\/a>(notes)<\/a>,<\/span> waived
\nright after the trade deadline, declined to talk about his departure and had
\nlittle to say about his limited role since being claimed by New York. \u201cThat\u2019s
\nhow the NBA is,\u201d Brown said. \u2026 Silas wasn\u2019t surprised the Knicks are
\nstruggling after the Anthony deal. \u201cThat\u2019s kind of normal,\u201d he said. \u201cAny
\nchange is difficult. In time, it will be fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p>\n
