LOS ANGELES (AP)\u2014One night after Staples Center hosted its first
\ntriple-overtime matchup in the arena\u2019s 12-year history, the Clippers and
\nWashington Wizards<\/a> apparently caught the bug.<\/p>\n

Blake Griffin<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> posted his first career triple-double and Eric Gordon<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> scored
\n32 points to help the Clippers beat the Wizards 127-119 in double OT on
\nWednesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot, but the best part about it was getting the win,\u201d Griffin
\nsaid after finishing with 33 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in a career-high
\n51 1\/2 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always great to keep your teammates involved and keep them going, but
\nyou also have to give credit to these guys for hitting shots. It was pretty
\ndraining. We just needed to tough it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a footnote to his first triple-double, Griffin also got his 55th
\ndouble-double\u2014tying the Clippers\u2019 single-season record that Elton Brand<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> set in
\n2001-02.<\/p>\n

Mo Williams<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> added 17 points and 10 assists after getting only two points
\nthrough the first three quarters, and Randy Foye<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> hit a clinching 3-pointer in
\nthe final minute.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe showed some pretty good resiliency in the way we gutted it out and made
\nsome plays down the stretch,\u201d coach Vinny Del Negro said. \u201cNothing is easy in
\nthis league, and we battled through it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris Kaman<\/a>(notes)<\/a>,<\/span> starting in place of the injured DeAndre Jordan<\/a>(notes)<\/a>,<\/span> had 18 points
\nand 12 rebounds for the Clippers, who won their first overtime game this season
\nin five tries.<\/p>\n

But it shouldn\u2019t have come to those extra 10 minutes. Los Angeles committed
\n25 turnovers, which the Wizards converted into 31 points.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was our carelessness,\u201d said Gordon, who had all five of his turnovers
\nin the first overtime period. \u201cWe probably just moved a little too fast and
\nthat gave us fewer opportunities to score.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wizards guard John Wall<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> tied it at 102 with a running floater over the
\noutstretched arm of the 7-foot Kaman with 19 seconds left in the fourth quarter,
\nand Griffin missed a 3-point attempt at the other end with a second on the
\nclock.<\/p>\n

Gordon sent it into a second OT for the Clippers with a 3-pointer out of a
\ntimeout with 1.9 seconds left in the first overtime.<\/p>\n

Wall led Washington with 32 points and 10 assists, and Jordan Crawford<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> had
\n25 points on 10-for-28 shooting after missing his first seven shots. JaVale
\nMcGee<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> added 22 points and 13 rebounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough to lose this game. We did everything we had to do,\u201d Wall said.
\n\u201cWe fought hard, but down the stretch I missed a free throw that could have put
\nus up by four and they just got the stops they needed. We didn\u2019t close it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Washington is 1-33 on the road\u2014the only victory coming against
\nleague-worst Cleveland on Feb. 13. The Wizards have seven chances left to avoid
\ntying the worst road record for a regulation season in NBA history, set by the
\n1-40 Sacramento Kings<\/a> in 1990-91.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re hurting in there, and they should be,\u201d coach Flip Saunders said.
\n\u201cYou get beat by 34 last night in Portland, you have a back-to-back, you get in
\nlate, and our guys still came out and competed. We played a lot of young guys,
\nand our backcourt found a way to keep us in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a matchup of the No. 1 overall picks from the 2009 and 2010 drafts\u2014and
\nthe top two scorers this season among rookies\u2014Griffin made 14 of 19 shots and
\nWall was 12 of 26. Wall\u2019s only triple-double was on Nov. 10 against Houston.<\/p>\n

The Wizards trailed by as many as 12 points after one quarter and didn\u2019t
\ntake their first lead until Crawford\u2019s 3-pointer put them ahead 69-68 with 3:01
\nleft in the third.<\/p>\n

Notes: Jordan missed his second straight game with pneumonia. \u2026 The
\nClippers have to go no worse than 6-5 the rest of the way to avoid reaching the
\n50-loss mark for the fourth straight season and 22nd time in the past 30 years,
\nincluding their final three in San Diego. \u2026 Eight rookies played in the game,
\nfive for Washington. \u2026 The Wizards have lost the last 13 games in which they
\nallowed 30 or more points by an opposing player. \u2026 Griffin came within one
\nassist of a triple-double on March 5 against Denver, and was within two assists
