AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP)\u2014For about six minutes at the start of the fourth
\nquarter, the Miami Heat<\/a> looked like championship contenders.<\/p>\n

Against the Detroit Pistons<\/a>, that was enough.<\/p>\n

Dwyane Wade<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> scored 24 points and Chris Bosh<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> added 23 to help the Heat rally
\nfor a 100-94 win over the Pistons on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Heat trailed by 11 late in the third quarter before Miami\u2019s Mike Miller<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\nmade a 3-pointer in the final seconds. The Heat then scored the first 15 points
\nof the fourth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a 48-minute game, and we need to play all 48 minutes,\u201d LeBron James<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\nsaid. \u201cWe didn\u2019t do that tonight, but we took a team that was rolling and we
\nheld them to 13 points on 4-of-19 shooting in the fourth. That\u2019s big.\u201d<\/p>\n

James had 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Miami, which has
\nwon six of seven following a five-game losing streak.<\/p>\n

Detroit had the ball down by four in the final minute, but Greg Monroe<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\nmissed a layup, forcing the Pistons to foul.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always frustrating when you lose a game when you think you control
\nthe game, control the tempo of the game,\u201d Monroe said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to control
\nthe game all the way to the fourth quarter and close the game out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Hamilton<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> led Detroit with 27 points. He made back-to-back 3-pointers
\nfrom the same spot in the left corner late in the third to give the Pistons a
\n78-70 lead. Mike Bibby<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> appeared to answer with a 3-pointer of his own with the
\nshot clock running out, but the Miami guard\u2019s shot ended up being disallowed
\nbetween quarters.<\/p>\n

Detroit led 81-73 after three, but went scoreless until Tracy McGrady<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> made a
\nshot from the top of the key with 6:25 left in the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were getting our tails handed to us and it was humbling through three
\nquarters,\u201d Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. \u201cThere is no easy way in this
\nleague, there really isn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detroit committed two defensive 3-second violations in the first 1:13 of the
\nfourth, and when James made a left-handed layup, the Heat had an 82-81 advantage
\n\u2014 their first lead since 8-7.<\/p>\n

Rodney Stuckey<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> fired up the crowd a bit with a one-handed dunk on a drive
\nthrough the lane for Detroit, but James did him one better shortly after that,
\nthrowing down an emphatic right-handed slam off a pass from Wade to make it
\n94-85.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe went through that spurt where all of a sudden we get nothing in the
\npost when we were posting the ball,\u201d Detroit coach John Kuester said. \u201cWe
\nweren\u2019t getting anything out of our set plays where we were getting guys coming
\noff of screens.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his previous game at Detroit, James made news by taking a heckler to task
\nearly in Miami\u2019s win over the Pistons. He isn\u2019t received as badly in Detroit as
\nhe is in Cleveland, but James\u2014who said he had family in the arena Wednesday\u2014
\nsays he\u2019s always prepared for a tough crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s drama here, too,\u201d he said. \u201cThere is drama at every road game I
\nplay. They are used to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bibby made his first start for Miami in his 11th game with the team, scoring
\nfive points. The Heat are without guard Mario Chalmers<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> (sprained right knee) and
\ncenter Zydrunas Ilgauskas<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> (right foot infection).<\/p>\n

Miller finished with 13 points for Miami.<\/p>\n

Monroe had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Pistons, while Tayshaun Prince<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span>
\nadded 13 points and Chris Wilcox<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> scored 10.<\/p>\n

Miami moved within 1 1\/2 games of Boston for the No. 2 spot in the Eastern
\nConference.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a good win for us on the road tonight,\u201d Wade said. \u201cWe want to
\ncontinue to play well and tonight I think that we found a way to win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notes: Detroit\u2019s Ben Wallace<\/a>(notes)<\/a><\/span> missed the game because of a sore left knee.
\nWilcox started at center for the Pistons in the team\u2019s 20th different starting
\nlineup of the season. \u2026 Bosh went 11 of 12 on free throws, his fifth straight
\ngame with at least 10 attempts from the line. \u2026 Miami improved to 13-0 when
\nJames, Wade and Bosh each shoot at least 50 percent from the field. James went 8
\nof 16, Wade was 7 of 13 and Bosh finished 6 of 11. \u2026 Detroit owner Karen
\nDavidson said at halftime she had no comment on the status of the team\u2019s sale.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p>\n
