FOUR thousand youths of the Allied Congress of Nigeria (ACPN) have defected to the Action Congress Party of Nigeria (ACN).<\/span><\/p>\n

The youths, under the aegis of Gbemisola Advocacy, fused into the Dele Belgore Advocacy (DBC), the General Secretary of the group, Ismaila Lanre, has said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Belgore welcomed the GA members at his campaign headquarters in Ilorin.<\/span><\/p>\n

With him are the ACN National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, ACN senatorial candidate (Kwara North), Musa Audu; Deputy Director-General (Kwara Central), Alhaji Idris Mahmoud, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammed said they would be admitted into the party on Saturday by the national leaders during the presidential campaign rally of Nuhu Ribadu in Ilorin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mohammed said they would be given ACN cards and other symbols of the party at the the rally.<\/span><\/p>\n

Belgore said: “Your decision to join us reinforces the trend in the world, which is the power of the youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Look everywhere in the world today and you will discover that the youths are making a strong case for themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019I am one of you. We assure you that your confidence in us will not be misplaced because our government will give priority to your future.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019This is why we have made free education, job opportunities and human development the centrepiece of our campaign.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Musa said the party symbolises a brighter future for youths and all segments of the society because “we are offering free education, free medical care, and youth employment.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the group, Lanre thanked the ACN leaders for accepting them.<\/span><\/p>\n

He promised to work for the success of ACN at the polls.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
