A former two-term Senator from Niger state, Mr. Isa Mohammed, has asked voters not to choose their leaders in April general elections on religious sentiment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isa, who represented Zone A Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007, also appealed to Nigerians to give President Goodluck Jonathan a chance to fix the problems in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

He spoke while addressing Kutigi community at the Kutigi Soccer Stadium on Monday afternoon during an ongoing zonal campaign tour of Niger State Governor, Dr. Babangida Aliyu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Isah said Nigerians had grown beyond using religious affiliations to determine their leaders, adding that credibility and competence should be the basis of selecting leaders in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said events had shown that Jonathan was divinely chosen to lead the country insisting that nobody should stand in the way of God.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said Jonathan had shown evidence of a promise keeper and that he would not fail to deliver if given a chance in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

While reeling out many challenges facing the zone in the state, he said Jonathan would fix the dilapidated Mokwa-Jebba-Bida Road if elected.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also asked the people to vote for Aliyu especially as he had kept the promises he made when he assumed office in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
