Looking up to Mummy and Daddy is all part of growing up. And Sophia Ruby Crouch will certainly have a lot of looking up to do.

Her father Peter stands a lofty 6ft 7in while mother Abbey Clancy is a not inconsiderable 5ft 9in.

Miss Clancy, 25, gave birth last week and the couple were clearly delighted by their new arrival as – looking just ever so slightly nervous – they took their daughter out for a walk.

"Peter

Looking up to Dad: Peter Crouch and his wife Abbey Clancy take their new daughter Sophia Ruby Crouch out for a stroll in a Surrey park

The blonde model turned TV presenter told of her gruelling labour as she told Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles that she had not been able to sleep – because she could not stop looking at Sophia.

She said: ‘I can’t stop staring at my beautiful new baby. Pete’s fab, he just feels on top of the world, he’s so happy.

‘You know I didn’t feel any pain through the labour because I had an epidural. But when she actually came out it was horrific.’

She described motherhood as being ‘tiring but wonderful’ , but admitted that she was looking forward to having a ‘girly night’.

"

I can’t stop staring him: Clancy, who has talked of her love for her new daughter, shares a kiss with husband Crouch.

She added: ‘I’ve got my stylist Angie Smith round and we’re trying all new clothes for my new body without my big massive bump. So we’re having a girly night. I’m sick of having Primark leggings on’

Liverpool born Miss Clancy was left devastated last August after it was claimed Crouch had enjoyed a sordid romp with a teenage prostitute during a stag weekend in Spain.

Despite allegations Crouch paid £829 to Monica Mint, 19, for sex in a cheap Madrid hotel, she stood by him, and just weeks later it was revealed that she was expecting their first baby.

The couple became engaged in July 2009 after three years of dating and speaking in an interview earlier this year, Miss Clancy confessed she was worried that the stress over Peter’s reported affair might affect the baby.

She said: ‘I worried about stress affecting the baby. I’m a hypochondriac anyway.’
However, she said they had moved past the affair, insisting: ‘I’m fine. We’re both fine. We’ve got our little baby coming. There are worse things that have happened.

‘It’s weird how you can go from your whole life being perfect – and that excludes living in a nice house and having all that – just being so happy with someone who’s your best friend and then a baby, a miracle.’
