The deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has dared the sacked Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis to reveal every dirt he has about the ruling government.

Mr Afriyie Ankrah who made these comments in an interview with Joy FM on Monday said Mr Kobina Annan Prah’s comments against the president and threats of revealing secrets that would harm the party were irresponsible.

He said Mr. Prah’s posture after he was relieved off his post should not be condoned and that “as for this issue of revealing whatever is there, the NDC is not a secret society, it is not a mafia, we don’t deal in drugs, so really I would rather use this platform to dare him to come out with whatever he has this morning or tomorrow. He should come out. I think it was totally irresponsible.”

Mr. Prah, after his sack, went on rampage accusing President Mills of using him as a scapegoat amidst suspicions that the President was being “manipulated” by some top officials of the party.

But Mr Afriyie Ankrah advised politicians to manage their temper when they are upset in order not to muddy the waters and bring the party’s name into disrepute. “The things he was saying were not things that a responsible person who claims to be a loyal party member should be saying,” he intimated.

He denied that the forensic investigations that the president ordered into the tenure of Mr. Prah was a witch hunt, insisting that “his Excellency the President based on his information and based on the knowledge that he has believes that we need to examine the period of his stewardship”.

He indicated that the audit will unearth whatever went on during his investigation and that the former MCE has nothing to fear if his hands are clean. “It is God who forgives. I am sure God has forgiven him, the president has forgiven him, we’ve all forgiven him but the institutions must work,” the deputy minister stressed.
