A mam believed to be about 28 years old was found murdered at Anomangye Nkwanta, a Kumasi suburb, in the early hours of yesterday. The deceased, who was naked, had deep cuts all over his body and looked very weak. By the time people rushed to the scene to offer help, he was on the verge of death and so he could only give his name as Baba.<\/p>\n

The man said he resided at Prestea and before he could give further details about himself, he passed on. The lifeless body of Baba has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue awaiting autopsy.<\/p>\n

Neighbours of the serene community said they heard shouts around 4:30 am that \u201cplease leave me alone I am not a thief.\u201d But they were frightened to come out to verify what was going on. Residents of the area only woke up in the morning to find a man butchered with deadly weapons and was on the brink of dying so they quickly called one Karikari, a radio presenter, to the scene.<\/p>\n

Upon setting eyes on Baba, Karikari became so terrified that he quickly called in the police, who arrived a few minutes after Baba had died.<\/p>\n

Baba, a resident of Prestea, was said to be suffering from some mental illness so he was brought to his relatives at Aboabo in Kumasi for treatment. Baba\u2019s stepmother, who would not give her name, said she went to pray in the mosque one early morning but by the time she returned, Baba had left the house. A search for Baba yielded no results.<\/p>\n

According to Baba\u2019s stepmother, she was at home yesterday morning when another family member called to inform her that Baba had been murdered. Baba\u2019s stepmother tearfully emphasized that her dead step-son was not a thief so his killers had killed an innocent person.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
