{"id":319482,"date":"2011-03-18T09:37:24","date_gmt":"2011-03-18T09:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/03\/18\/nigeria-chevron-tennis-serves-off\/"},"modified":"2011-03-18T09:37:24","modified_gmt":"2011-03-18T09:37:24","slug":"nigeria-chevron-tennis-serves-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/03\/18\/nigeria-chevron-tennis-serves-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: Chevron Tennis Serves Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"60.7365115615\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/><!-- close google_banner_mid div ---><\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.independentngonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daily Independent<\/a> (Lagos)\n<\/p>\n<p><!-- begin story layout piece here --><\/p>\n<p>17 March 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The 12th edition of the NNPC\/Chevron Junior Masters Tennis tournament serves off in Lagos on Friday with over fifty-two players from the 36 states of of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, taking part.<\/p>\n<p>The competition holds at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan from March 18-27, 2011.<\/p>\n<p><!-- close google_inset_a div ---><\/p>\n<p>Chevron General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA), Femi Odumabo, described the tournament as a worthy social investment that confers benefits on youths by enhancing their physical and mental well being, as well as stimulating their instincts for healthy competition.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated NNPC\/Chevron Joint Venture&#8217;s commitment to the programme adding that two of the past champions of the tournament, Umoru Balami and Samuel Omoile were recently sponsored to the South Africa Tennis Academy (SATA) in Pretoria, South Africa and Barcelona Tennis Academy, Spain respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Masters Championship is designed to discover and nurture future grand slam players and champions.
