BY OLA AJAYI, IBADAN
First Lady, Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan has assured Nigerians that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party would not rig the April election.

The assurance came just as she called on women in the South West to vote massively for President Goodluck Jonathan in the April elections.

She said these Tuesday in Ibadan when addressing many women in the zone on the need to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party from the councillorship to the presidential elections.

At a well attended rally which had the wife of Vice President, Mrs. Aminat Namadi Sambo, Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello and wife of the Senate President, Helen David-Mark and other chieftains of the party in the zone in attendance, the wife of Mr. President said the party would soon win all the states in the federation to its side.

Speaking at different times, the wives of both the president and his vice, underscored the need for the people in the zone to vote for the ruling PDP.

“PDP has already twenty-eight states. By the grace of God, we are going to have the
thirty-six states including the FCT because we are the winning party. We have also gone round various towns and cities in the country, campaigning and pleading for votes”, she said.

”So, our party will not rig the election. I am pleading with my women folk to cast their votes for PDP candidates right from President Jonathan to those vying for counsellorship.

PDP will take Nigeria to greater heights and I can assure you President Jonathan and Architect Sambo will not disappoint you”, she assured.
