The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC,\u00a0 has flagged off the first phase of its Agricultural Credit Scheme, expected to touch the lives of 1,660 youths from 166 cooperatives in the Niger Delta region.<\/p>\n

N500million has already been provided as cash security deposit for the take off of the first phase of the\u00a0 while N304million\u00a0 has been remitted to the commission\u2019s partnering bank, Bank of Agriculture\u00a0 for the second phase of the programme.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the flag off ceremony in Port Harcourt, which also held simultaneously across the nine Niger Delta states, Managing Director of the NDDC, Mr. Chibuzor Ugwoha said that the aim was to bring the desired improvement on the quality of life of the people of the region, in addition to\u00a0 meeting the food security and agro \u2013industrial needs of the region and the country.<\/p>\n
