Do not underestimate the propaganda machinery of the Mills-led government. They can go to all lengths to throw dust into the eyes of the citizenry, regardless of the crudeness and puerility of their approach.<\/p>\n
If what is reported to have happened regarding the now-jinxed Amina story is true, the latest in a string of mutations of the tired tale, then we are witnessing another phase of bad governance in the country.<\/p>\n
Nobody knows when the nonsense would stop but we appear to be in for a long haul, during which a motley of tricks would be unfurled on the citizenry by state players.<\/p>\n
The foregone assumption is predicated on the fact that lies constitute an important hallmark of the ruling party, a fact which is responsible for the impaired impression of the people about the government. The rate at which Ghanaians are losing confidence in government\u2019s sincerity is amazing and we shudder to think that the alarm bell emanating from the situation is lost on the state players who should know better.<\/p>\n
The story on Michael Frimpong, as reported elsewhere in this issue, stinks to the high heavens. Indeed, it is enough to prompt Ghanaians to ask whether they are not being taken for a ride by those they elected to run the country on their behalf.<\/p>\n
If Michael Frimpong was encouraged by government officials to say what he said earlier about NPP personalities, then we can safely conclude that things have fallen apart in the country.<\/p>\n
It constitutes an insult to Ghanaians who are being fed with lies so their impressions about political developments can be influenced to follow a particular direction, propaganda of the worst order.<\/p>\n
Desperation and frustration best describe the circumstances which pushed government agents to stoop to the depth of doing what they are alleged to have done.<\/p>\n
It sounds cheap and infantile to ask a man like Michael Frimpong to concoct a tale to frame up other political leaders in the country, with a view to saving the fallen face of government. Such recourse can only bring more embarrassment to the government when, as a result of the weakness of the premises adduced, the cat is easily let out of the bag.<\/p>\n
If the Amina story itself is a bad story, as regards its management by government, then the Michael Frimpong one stinks to the high heavens, given the caliber of state players involved in the official manouvres and failure to achieve the envisaged objective. It is all but a boomerang, hitting government in the face.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
