Chelsea<\/a> striker Fernando Torres<\/a> has vowed to end the goal drought that has seen him fail to find the net since joining the Blues from Liverpool<\/a> in January and is confident the first strike will help trigger many more thereafter.<\/p>\n

The former Atletico Madrid man signed for the London club in a \u00a350 million deal on transfer deadline-day and has insisted that he is well aware that he was brought in to score goals for the club.<\/p>\n

“I know I’m here to score goals,” he told Chelsea TV<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“It’s the job of the striker, so hopefully I can score the first and I’m sure it will be the first of many.”<\/p>\n

Torres is yet to have scored for his new club in his first four appearances although insists that his fitness is improving as he continues to adjust to life at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

“I’m trying to settle here, but [I’m feeling] much better, much better [in terms of] fitness,” he added.<\/p>\n

“I felt the other day against Man United very good, sharp. [I’m] waiting for the first goal and excited about that possibility.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully, I can score against Blackpool.”<\/p>\n
