{"id":289730,"date":"2011-03-04T17:52:17","date_gmt":"2011-03-04T17:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/03\/04\/gis-students-reach-for-the-stars-with-a-new-musical-fame\/"},"modified":"2011-03-04T17:52:17","modified_gmt":"2011-03-04T17:52:17","slug":"gis-students-reach-for-the-stars-with-a-new-musical-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/03\/04\/gis-students-reach-for-the-stars-with-a-new-musical-fame\/","title":{"rendered":"GIS Students reach for the stars with a new musical, Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"60.4014199891\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ameyawdebrah.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/fame.jpg\" rel=\"shadowboxpost-3907;player=img;\" title=\"fame\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3908\" title=\"fame\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/ec2cabcaame-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>80 students from Ghana International School have been working hard behind the scenes for months in preparation of their must-see musical performance, <strong>FAME<\/strong>. \u00a0On Friday March 25 and Saturday March 26, 2011, GIS students will bring to the stage an adaptation of <strong>FAME<\/strong> for the benefit of the Ghanaian audience. <strong>FAME<\/strong> is a popular 1980\u2019s musical that follows the determination, talent and passion of a cast of young budding actors, dancers, and singers as they pursue their dreams.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Gloria Payida, Vice-Principal of the Lower Secondary section at Ghana International School said, \u201cThis is the fourth year running that GIS has staged such a major musical at the National Theatre. Every year, we aim to get bigger and better, and the dream of making a musical production an entrenched item on the GIS annual calendar is gradually coming true.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cast members are excited. They deserve celebration for the effort and extreme commitment they have brought to the production to ensure its success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FAME is produced in association with MTN and sponsored by Pippa\u2019s Health and Fitness Centre, Metro TV, Ashki, Black\u2019s Secret Make-Up, Silverbird Lifestyle Bookstore and Cinema, Daily Graphic, Citi FM, YFM, e-TV Ghana and Joy FM.<\/p>\n<p>The show commences at <strong>5.30p.m.<\/strong> on both nights.
