American forward Eugene Starikov will spend the 2011 season on loan at FC Tom Tomsk, the same club where he spent the 2010 season, MLSsoccer.com has confirmed.<\/p>\n

The 22 year-old Zenit St. Petersburg forward took a little while to break into the first team at Tom Tomsk of the Russian Premier League last season, but he became a fixture by year’s end, starting the team’s final five matches.<\/p>\n

In total, Starikov made nine appearances for Tom Tomsk, scoring one goal.<\/p>\n

Starikov was born in Odessa, Ukraine and grew up in Huntington Beach, California. His performances in two seasons at Stetson University in Florida earned him a contract with Russian giants Zenit before the 2009 season.<\/p>\n

His emergence at Tom Tomsk last season earned the young striker a call-up to Bob Bradley’s U.S. national team camp this January. Despite the call-up, Starikov is still looking for his first career cap, as he was left out of the gameday roster for the January friendly versus Chile.<\/p>\n

FC Tom Tomsk will kick off their season on March 14. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
