Architect Muhammed Abdullahi Dewu, has dragged the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the party\u2019s governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar,\u00a0 and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before an Abuja Federal High Court over the submission of the name of Tuggar as the party\u2019s gubernatorial candidate in the April general election.<\/p>\n

In a suit No. FHC\/ABJ\/CS\/285\/11 of\u00a0 Friday, February 25, counsel to Dewu,\u00a0 L. Okere Esq, prayed the court to pronounce the forwarding of Tuggar\u2019s name by the party as the gubernatorial candidate of the CPC in Bauchi State as unlawful and unconstitutional. He urged the court to pronounce him as the duly elected candidate for governorship primaries election\u00a0 conducted on\u00a0 Saturday, January\u00a0 15\u00a0 and supervised\u00a0 by the electoral body and\u00a0 other security agencies.<\/p>\n

Dewu who attached a copy of the result of the primaries,\u00a0 sought\u00a0 from the court an order\u00a0 compelling\u00a0 the CPC and INEC to declare him winner of the primaries based\u00a0 on the result as certified by INEC and other security agencies who monitored the primaries.<\/p>\n

The plaintiff also asked the court to issue an \u201c order of mandatory injunction restraining the CPC and INEC from recognizing Tuggar\u00a0 or any other person apart from the plaintiff as the elected candidate of the CPC in Bauchi State.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn order of the court setting aside the nomination of the 2nd defendant by the 1st defendant\u00a0 as the gubernatorial candidate of the Bauchi State.\u201d<\/p>\n
