Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola will build on his achievements in the last four years, if re-elected, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The party, which unfolded its campaign programmes for the parliamentary and governorship elections yesterday, assured Lagosians that the governor would ensure more development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign will hold tomorrow at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chairman of the Campaign Committee Cardinal James Odunmbaku said Fashola would pursue welfare policies and programmes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At a pre-campaign press conference held at the ACN Secretariat in Ogba, spokesman for the Campaign Committee, Tunji Bello, said the administration would focus on \u201cprovision, modernisation and expansion of infrastructure across the state.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bello said under the proposed development plans, priority would be given to Badagry and Epe to boost agriculture and tourism, expand economic opportunities, and promote rural-urban integration.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said: \u201cWe will continue to implement policies that will accelerate economic growth, create jobs and reduce poverty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The former Commissioner for Environment listed the achievements of the administration in education, health, rural development, security, transportation, infrastructure development and public accountability.<\/span><\/p>\n

He urged the people to vote for ACN candidates next month, adding that a vote for Fashola would translate to continuity of efficient service delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bello said: \u201cAnother emphasis of our administration will be on power supply, which is crucial to economic productivity and employment generation. Already, we have completed an Independent Power Project (IPP) at Ajele, which will power 22 streets, schools and government offices on Lagos Island.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is in addition to the IPP plant that is now supplying electricity to the Lagos State Water Corporation, with positive impact on water supply. We will multiply such off-grid projects across the state to improve power supply, boost economic activities and reduce poverty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
