The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and member of the Bui Power Authority Board Johnson Asiedu Nketia is to sue NPP Vice Chair Fred Oware for making statements that according to him has damaged his reputation.<\/p>\n
The two men have been involved in a media battle over the Bui Power Project with accusations of wrong doing over the execution of the Bui hydro dam project.<\/p>\n
Addressing Journalists in Accra Thursday March 3, Mr Asiedu Nketia said the former Bui Power CEO has damaged his reputation over the resettlement project of the Bui Power construction and is bent on taking legal action against him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am in court this morning to file the issue of libel against Mr Fred Oware for everything he said about me at the so called Press conference so I don\u2019t want to say anything for which I would be charged for anything\u201d.<\/p>\n
Mr Fred Oware in an earlier Press Conference said Mr Asiedu Nketia\u2019s block factory was providing blocks for the Bui Power Authority, a company he is board member and accusing him of conflict of interest.<\/p>\n
Whilst refusing to reveal details of his lawsuit against the former Bui Power Authority Chief, the NDC General Secretary was quick to give hints of possible criminal investigations into the tenure of the former Board of the Bui Project.<\/p>\n
He said Mr Fred Oware in particular has questions to answer over issues of possible wrong-doing. \u201cMr Fred Oware has not handed over any board minute so if he took decisions to commit monies that belonged to the republic of Ghana them he has questions to answer\u201d.<\/p>\n
According to Mr Asiedu Nketia the Bui City project which was supposed to be built as part of the Bui Dam has turned out to be false and some members of the the previous government must be made to answer questions on that.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a hydro electric project, which we have seen, there is an irrigation project, which provisions we have seen and there is a Bui City Project and it turns out that everything about that the Bui City project is false then that government has a lot of questions to answer\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
