Tennis ace Serena Williams has assured her fans she’s recovering well following emergency treatment to treat a blood clot in her lungs.<\/p>\n
\nThe sports star sought treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday (28Feb11) for a haematoma, a pooling of blood caused by a haemorrhage.\n<\/p>\n
\n It came just a week after Williams was diagnosed with a blood clot in her lungs during treatment of an ongoing foot injury in New York.\n<\/p>\n
\n She has now spoken out about the medical drama, telling fans she’s “doing better” – but admits her health scares have caused her great concern.\n<\/p>\n
\n Williams tells People.com, “Thank you everyone for all of your prayers, concerns, and support. This has been extremely hard, scary, and disappointing. I am doing better, I’m at home now and working with my doctors to keep everything under control.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I know I will be okay, but am praying and hoping this will all be behind me soon. While I can’t make any promises now on my return (to tennis), I hope to be back by early summer. That said, my main goal is to make sure I get there safely.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The 29 year old was forced to take a hiatus from tennis last summer (10) after undergoing surgery on her foot.<\/p>\n
