{"id":284702,"date":"2011-02-28T15:35:25","date_gmt":"2011-02-28T15:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/02\/28\/3m-ceo-slams-obama-as-anti-business\/"},"modified":"2011-02-28T15:35:25","modified_gmt":"2011-02-28T15:35:25","slug":"3m-ceo-slams-obama-as-anti-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/02\/28\/3m-ceo-slams-obama-as-anti-business\/","title":{"rendered":"3M CEO slams Obama as &#8216;anti-business&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"69.1295360588\"><span id=\"fb-recommend\"\/><br \/>\n<span>by Ken Sweet, contributing writer<\/span><span>February 28, 2011: 10:34 AM ET<\/span><!--startclickprintexclude--><br clear=\"all\"\/><!--endclickprintexclude--><!-- CONTENT --><\/p>\n<p>NEW YORK (CNNMoney) &#8212; The head of industrial conglomerate 3M (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=MMM&#038;source=story_quote_link\">MMM<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/magazines\/fortune\/fortune500\/2010\/snapshots\/284.html?source=story_f500_link\">Fortune 500<\/a>) blasted the president as being &#8220;anti-business,&#8221; claiming Obama has not done anything to improve the White House&#8217;s relationship with Corporate America.<\/p>\n<p>3M CEO George Buckley called Obama&#8217;s policies &#8220;Robin Hood-esque&#8221; and told the <i>Financial Times<\/i> that manufacturers like 3M may have to shift production to other countries in order to stay competitive.<\/p>\n<p><!-- REAP --><!--startclickprintexclude--><!--endclickprintexclude--><!-- \/REAP --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know what his instincts are &#8230; he is anti business,&#8221; Buckley said in an interview that ran late Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The interview comes as the White House pushes its <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2011\/02\/24\/news\/economy\/white_house_jobs_council\/index.htm\">pro-business agenda<\/a>. Last week, the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness held its first meeting to brainstorm ideas on job growth and boosting the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The Council is headed by a roundtable of business leaders including General Electric&#8217;s (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=GE&#038;source=story_quote_link\">GE<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/magazines\/fortune\/fortune500\/2010\/snapshots\/170.html?source=story_f500_link\">Fortune 500<\/a>) Jeffrey Immelt, AOL (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=AOL&#038;source=story_quote_link\">AOL<\/a>) co-founder Steve Case and  Intel (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=INTC&#038;source=story_quote_link\">INTC<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/magazines\/fortune\/fortune500\/2010\/snapshots\/642.html?source=story_f500_link\">Fortune 500<\/a>) CEO Paul Otellini.<\/p>\n<p>Otellini had been critical of the Obama administration&#8217;s handling of the economic recovery back in September.
