Futures measure current index values against perceived future performance.<\/p>\n<p><!-- REAP --><!--startclickprintexclude--><!--endclickprintexclude--><!-- \/REAP --><\/p>\n<p>U.S. stocks closed <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2011\/02\/25\/markets\/markets_newyork\/index.htm\">solidly higher<\/a> Friday, but fears about Libya and the oil markets translated into the worst week for stocks since November.<\/p>\n<p>Friday&#8217;s gains came after the Dow posted losses for three consecutive sessions, following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2011\/WORLD\/africa\/02\/28\/libya.protests\/index.html?hpt=T2\">increased violence in Libya<\/a> and rapidly <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2011\/02\/25\/markets\/oil\/index.htm\">rising oil prices<\/a>. It was the worst week for stocks since mid-November <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/news\/economy\/index.html\"><b>Economy:<\/b><\/a> Investors will get January personal income and spending figures from the Commerce Department at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists are looking for personal incomes to rise 0.3% in January, while the personal spending figure is seen rising at a slightly quicker 0.4%.<\/p>\n<p>Later Monday morning, the Chicago purchasing managers index will be released, followed by pending home sales at 10 a.m. from the National Association of Realtors.<\/p>\n<p>The Chicago PMI is expected to decline slightly to 67.5 from last month&#8217;s 68.8, and pending home sales are expected to fall 3.2%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/news\/companies\/\"><b>Companies<\/b><\/a>: Online closeout retailer Overstock.com (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=OSTK&#038;source=story_quote_link\">OSTK<\/a>) reports quarterly results before the bell, while auction house Sotheby&#8217;s (<a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/quote\/quote.html?symb=BID&#038;source=story_quote_link\">BID<\/a>) will report after the market close.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expect Overstock.com to report earnings per share of 43 cents, on $364 in revenue.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/data\/world_markets\/europe\/\"><b>World markets:<\/b><\/a> European stocks were mixed in morning trading. Britain&#8217;s FTSE 100 slid 0.5%, while the DAX in Germany ticked up 0.2% and France&#8217;s CAC 40 edged slightly above breakeven.<\/p>\n<p>Asian markets ended the session higher.
