{"id":284210,"date":"2011-02-28T08:42:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-28T08:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/02\/28\/david-luiz-reveals-admiration-for-patrice-evra-ahead-of-chelseas-clash-with-manchester-united\/"},"modified":"2011-02-28T08:42:00","modified_gmt":"2011-02-28T08:42:00","slug":"david-luiz-reveals-admiration-for-patrice-evra-ahead-of-chelseas-clash-with-manchester-united","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/02\/28\/david-luiz-reveals-admiration-for-patrice-evra-ahead-of-chelseas-clash-with-manchester-united\/","title":{"rendered":"David Luiz reveals admiration for Patrice Evra ahead of Chelsea&#8217;s clash with Manchester United"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<h3>By Jonathan Birchall<\/h3>\n<h4>28 Feb 2011 08:42:00<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"66.0980278422\">\n<div readability=\"14.5951219512\">\n<div>\n                <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\" EPL,David Luiz,Fulham vs Chelsea(Getty Images)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/b31de674124568_news.jpg\" \/><\/p><\/div>\n<p> EPL,David Luiz,Fulham vs Chelsea(Getty Images)<\/p>\n<h4>Related Links<\/h4>\n<h4>Teams<\/h4>\n<h4>Players<\/h4>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>        <span readability=\"31.0303030303\"><\/p>\n<p>        <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/teams\/england\/96\/chelsea\">Chelsea<\/a> defender <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/people\/brazil\/15706\/david-luiz\">David Luiz<\/a> has revealed his admiration for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/teams\/england\/97\/manchester-united\">Manchester United<\/a> left-back <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goal.com\/en-gb\/people\/france\/838\/patrice-evra\">Patrice Evra<\/a> ahead of two teams&#8217; meeting at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Brazilian, who joined the Blues in a \u00a321 million deal during the January transfer window, has admitted to watching a number of other defenders at the top level in order to improve his game and cited the Frenchman as one player who has impressed him most.<\/p>\n<p>Luiz has only made two appearances since moving to the Premier League champions but has been touted as the long-term replacement for captain John Terry at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti&#8217;s defence.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <em>The Sun<\/em>, the former Benfica man insisted that he can become a good signing for the Blues and that he feels he has already settled in well at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8220;I watch a lot of defenders&#8217; matches, especially Evra, and try to copy things.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whether I play at centre-half or full-back I know I can do a good job.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know football in England is different but I think I&#8217;ve coped with it well so far and I&#8217;m surrounded by great players.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Luiz also spoke of delight at being able to play alongside some of Chelsea&#8217;s biggest names, including Terry.<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8220;It&#8217;s a privilege to play alongside players like John Terry and to learn every day with them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m trying to make the most of the experience it gives me.
