Frances Awurabena Asiam, a firebrand of the New Patriotic party (NPP) has resigned her position as a member of the Communications Committee of the Party\u2019s Adenta constituency.<\/p>\n
The move is to enable her contest in the parliamentary primaries of the NPP in the constituency, nominations of which she would be picking today at the party\u2019s headquarters. The correspondence on her decision addressed to the Secretary of the constituency branch of the party, which Daily Guide sighted reads, \u201cIn accordance with Article 94 of the Ghana\u2019s 4th Republican Constitution (1992) and Article 3 and 17 of the NP Constitution 2009 in respect of qualification and eligibility criteria for aspiring parliamentary candidate, I hereby wish to resign my position as a member of the Communications Committee of the constituency with effect from 25th February 2011. <\/p>\n
I would abide by the rules of engagement of the regional electoral process.\u201d Frances has had a checkered political career having dumped the NDC after her close shave with death during the party\u2019s ill-famed Koforidua congress in 2005.<\/p>\n
Today the Development Management Consultant, Local Government Expect and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Center for Gender, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), who doubles as Development and Managing Editor of the Patriot newspaper, is now a staunch member of the party.<\/p>\n
Her nomination would attract a lot of media attention given her passion as a member of the NPP\u2019s National Communications Committee.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
