Nollywood is about to witness a radical departure from the norms, as \u201cDestitute\u201d, a trilogy film from the stable of\u00a0 Diamond Pictures, hit the cinemas soon across the country.<\/p>\n

Directed by the duo of Andy Boyo and Peter Boyo, the trilogy\u00a0 includes\u00a0 \u201c Night of Judgement\u201d, \u201cFrom Riches to Rag\u201d and \u201c Diamond are forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at the press preview of the movies during the week, in Ikoyi, Peter Boyo said \u201cDestitute\u201d are three in one movies that dwells on different societal issues. The big budget films explores the ills of the society.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are trying to raise the bar in Nollywood.\u00a0 The movies dwell on different societal issues, with major focus on Destitute.\u201d Boyo\u00a0 said.<\/p>\n

The trilogy, starring veteran actor Justus Esiri, Hakeem Rahman, Gab Liberty, Joy Akapn and rising actress Chinwe Isaac amongst others is expected to hit the cinemas\u00a0 across the country in the next few months.<\/p>\n

One of the films which was screened to the press \u201cNight of Judgement\u201d is an expository of\u00a0 the kind of ills that pervades\u00a0 our society. A sixteen year old, impending bride of seventy year old man runs away to the big city to seek refuge with his uncle. What she finds and encounters while in the city is rape, incest, unwanted pregnancy and murder as a consequence. The movie, more of a family oriented movie is also punctuated with intrigues and suspense.<\/p>\n

The outfit says it hopes to hit cinemas again come July with another of\u00a0 its movie entitled \u201cThe spirit of the Assassin\u201d<\/p>\n

Genesis, Deluxe cinemas bring\u00a0 3-D screens to Nigeria<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Genesis Deluxe Cinema Lagos recently became the first cinema to bring 3D movie to Nigeria and the West Africa sub region as the Cinema situated in Lekki, Lagos recently unveiled the 3D experience to a select few with\u00a0 Green Hornet, the blockbuster action comedy starring Seth Hogan and Cameron Diaz.<\/p>\n

The selected few which had the privilege of becoming the first set of Nigerians to watch a 3D movie in a Nigerian cinema were made up of major stakeholders in the movie and cinema industry that includes Omoni Oboli, Chelsea Eze, Charles Novia, Kene Mparu, Kingsley Ogoro.<\/p>\n

This first by Genesis Cinemas has put it in the ranks of other international cinemas where 3D screening is one of the cinema options. A 3-D (three-dimensional) film or S3D (stereoscopic 3D) film is a motion picture that enhances the illusion of depth perception.<\/p>\n

A special motion picture camera system is used to record the images as seen from two perspectives\u00a0 and special projection hardware and\/or eyewear are used to provide the illusion of depth when viewing the film.<\/p>\n

3-D films were prominently featured in the 1950s in American cinema. It later experienced a worldwide acceptance in the 1980s and \u201990s.<\/p>\n

With the introduction of 3-D screening to Nigerian cinemas by Genesis Deluxe, cinema goers will be having a wow time as they can now watch movies with a deeper perception.<\/p>\n
