The ANC in the Western Cape says it will consider legal action if there is no proof of DA allegations about a party \u201cplot\u201d to regain control of six DA municipalities.<\/p>\n

The DA claimed onTuesday that the \u201cplot\u201d included cash bribes and the promise of tenders to councillors.<\/p>\n

Party leader Theuns Botha laid criminal charges against seven people over an alleged plot dubbed Project Reclaim.<\/p>\n

But provincial ANC leader Marius Fransman rejected the claims, saying he suspected the Project Reclaim document may have been manufactured.<\/p>\n

Responding to the claim that large sums were offered to councillors to join the ANC, Fransman said it was \u201claughable\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said members joined the ANC voluntarily.<\/p>\n

But Botha, who called Fransman the CEO of the \u201cdirty tricks department\u201d, said the affidavits of DA councillors who had allegedly been solicited told a different story.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ANC has no plan or project to bribe any other political office bearer,\u201d said ANC regional secretary Songezo Mjongile.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe DA must back up their allegations with tangible proof or face the consequences of legal action.\u201d<\/p>\n
