AUSTRALIAN actress Jacki Weaver is considering several Hollywood film and TV roles ahead of the Academy Awards, where she was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been offered three films, three television series and a miniseries, as well as several other scripts for consideration,” said the 63-year-old grandmother.<\/p>\n

“They’re all firm offers, so now it’s a matter of juggling things around and seeing what are the best choices to make. I’d like to do them all, but there isn’t enough time. It is huge. I guess in the past few weeks, I’ve read more than a dozen scripts.”<\/p>\n

Though Hollywood is generally a younger woman’s game, Weaver was thrilled by the “meaty” roles on offer, following her Oscar nomination for the role of crime matriarch Janine Cody in cult Australian film Animal Kingdom.<\/p>\n

“They’ve all been fantastic – really well-written and really great stories,” she said. “I love American films. I’ve been watching them all of my life, but Hollywood just didn’t seem possible.”<\/p>\n

A permanent move from her Sydney home to the US is also on the cards for Weaver and her actor husband, Sean Taylor.<\/p>\n

“I’d have to move [to Los Angeles] because these are all major roles. They are not guest appearances,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
