In broad strokes, it goes like this: Sunday morning, at 3:31 am, Shalrie Joseph was arrested for trespassing in Orlando. Both him and teammate Kevin Alston were sent back to Boston from the New England Revolution’s preseason training camp, and now MLS is investigating the incident.

The details are still murky, however. According to the Boston Globe, the police dispersed a party in the room of two women who were staying at the team’s hotel. Joseph and another man continued their conversation in a stairwell.

“I’m not doing nothing wrong. I’m not going anywhere,” Joseph told the police when asked to leave, according to the Globe. Unfortunately for the Revs captain, he was doing something wrong, and the police arrested him for trespassing, a misdemeanor in Florida.

Both Joseph and fullback Kevin Alston were sent back to Boston later on Sunday; New England has yet to announce any further punishment.

“We are aware of the situation involving Shalrie Joseph and Kevin Alston and we understand the New England Revolution are dealing with it,” MLS executive vice president of player relations and competition Todd Durbin said on the league’s official website. “The league will determine if any action is necessary.”

The rest of the Revolution team returned to the Northeast on Thursday, after posting three straight wins and three clean sheets against youth and reserve opposition in 11 days in Florida.

The nature of Alston’s involvement or offense is unknown.

Joseph, 32, played only 22 games last season because of injury and a forced absence to attend a substance abuse program after testing positive for marijuana. The Grenadian also skipped the first day of preseason without advance notice, citing personal reasons.
