IKIRE \u2013 Osun State\u00a0 Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday berated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for mismanaging the fortunes of the state during its almost eight years in power.<\/p>\n

Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters in Ikire, Irewole Local Government area of the state, who trooped out to welcome him, the Osun State Governor declared that less than two months of his coming into office, he had fulfilled the promise he made during the electioneering campaigns to create 20,000 jobs within 100 days of assuming office.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe PDP came and plundered the state. They mismanaged the economy. The result of their years of the locust is what you have seen in the lack of development all around you. But with the arrival of our party, we have ended the years of the locust.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asking the crowd whether they had seen the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme, OYES, volunteers in their midst, the crowd roared in applause and approval.<\/p>\n

When Governor Aregbesola asked them about \u201cApalara\u201d, the OYES catch phrase, the crowd replied \u201cOYES\u201d to confirm that the scheme had taken off in their areas too.<\/p>\n

He expressed displeasure at the opportunities wasted by the past administration to develop the state and promised that in a short while, Osun State would record success in its food security programme.<\/p>\n

He lauded the decision of Elder Peter Adebayo Babalola, the former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Oyinlola to cross over to the camp of the progressives and asked the crowd to tell any of their relations who were still left in the PDP to leave before it was too late.<\/p>\n

\u201cTell your relations who are still left in the PDP that God has abandoned their fold. The PDP market has folded up\u201d .<\/p>\n
