Danish side Odense BK have refused to hand a contract to Ghana striker Junior Agogo after a one-week trial period at the club, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.<\/p>\n
The former Zamalek failed to impress and had his last training session with the club on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
A statement on the club\u2019s website read: \u201cThe team\u2019s trainers have assessed the attacker in two friendlies and a series of training sessions, and OB have decided not to offer a contract to Agogo.\u201d<\/p>\n
Agogo has struggled to replicate his form that earned him rave reviews during the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations for Ghana on home soil where he scored three goals.<\/p>\n
The 31-year-old was axed by Cypriot side Apollon Limassol after a serious knee injury he suffered while training with the club.<\/p>\n
Even before the injury, club officials of Apollon were unimpressed with his performance which seems to have quickened the decision for them to release him from his two-year contract.<\/p>\n
