Ghana captain John Mensah believes country\u2019s golden generation can dominate African football for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
The Black Stars have become the top-ranked team on the continent following their excellent showing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and a runners-up finish at the most recent African Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n
Mensah captained his country to the quarter-finals of last summer\u2019s World Cup under coach Milovan Rajevac who left his post after the tournament, which Ghana exited on penalties at the hands of Uruguay.<\/p>\n
Ghana\u2019s exit was tough to take after Asamoah Gyan missed a spot kick in extra time, but Mensah is convinced the Black Stars are ideally placed to kick on and dominate the African football scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cGhana is now the best team in Africa because of our hard work in South Africa and in Angola at the African Cup of Nations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all know what we can do. Any team we play against, we make sure we do our best to get the victory and we are close as a team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhenever we meet we stay together, crack jokes and make sure everyone is satisfied and happy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is nothing bad in the squad; we have the right attitude to play every game. When new players come in they may be quiet, but we talk to them about anything you can think of.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a player doesn\u2019t feel confident then they cannot play to their maximum, so we try to help everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
