Deputy Minister of Environment Science and Technology, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah says those endorsing the \u201call die be die\u201d comments need psychiatric examination.<\/p>\n
He was speaking on Metro TV Good Morning Ghana Show. Dr. Omane-Boamah, even though did not mention names, he noted that just like people who commit incest need psychiatric examination, likewise those who say \u201call die be die\u201d.<\/p>\n
Earlier, his co-panelist, Youth Organizer of the CPP, James Kwabena Bomfeh had said Ghana \u201cneeds more psychiatric hospitals in Ghana to examine people who commit incest.\u201d To this, Dr. Omane-Boamah interjected saying \u201cyes we need more psychiatric hospitals to examine all these people, including those who say \u2018all die be die\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n
Early on, in the programme, he also accused the Executive Secretary of Danquah Institute, Gabby Okyere-Darko of deliberately avoiding to appear on the show to avoid commenting on the \u201call die be die\u201d issue. \u201cMyself and Gabby come on this show every Tuesday but today he has swerved the show because he does not want to talk about ‘all die be die’ \u2014in fact Gabby and Nana Akomea have been dodging the \u2018all die be die\u2019 statement since,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Dr. Omane-Boamah said those who claim \u201call die be die\u201d should be abreast with problems facing different Ghanaians and they would know that \u201call die not be same die\u201d.<\/p>\n
The panelists also discussed issues about how squatters across the capital, Accra, are impeding smooth development, particularly around the Korle Lagoon, Agbogbloshie, Sodom and Gomorrah, West Legon and other parts of the city. The Deputy Minister said an effective plan has been designed to ensure that within the next two to three weeks, squatters around the Korle Lagoon, Sodom and Gomorrah and Agbogbloshie would begin a resettlement process.<\/p>\n
Mr. Bomfeh, aka, Kabila said there was no justification in allowing squatters to mass up, provide them with utility and collect revenue from them and when they become problematic \u201cwe want to oust them to score political points.\u201d \u201cWe need to arrest the squatting problem as it emerges before it becomes a human rights issue when they have grown and [that is why] we want to evict them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
