West African nation Ghana is currently ranked Africa number one on the latest FIFA\/Coca-cola rankings and FA vice president Fred Pappoe said it puts a lot of pressure on his side.
\nSpeaking to Joy Sports he said the top spot could boost high profile player transfers if the country strives high to retain it in subsequent rankings.
\n\u201cDefinitely the profile of the team will be enhanced by this new ranking,\u201d the FA boss said. \u201cIt brings us a feel-good-factor and then boosts the esteem and pride of the team.\u201d
\n\u201cFor some of them too it would enhance their chances because some countries are very particular about rankings when you apply for work permit to ply your trade. It\u2019s also a challenge to us because it is one thing getting on top but the crucial thing is staying there,\u201d he added.
\nThis is the second time the four-time African champions have been ranked as Africa\u2019s number one.
