German Bundesliga side Schalke on Monday confirmed that they have signed Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan from Norwegian giants Rosenborg. This comes three days after Ghanasoccernet.com broke the news that Annan has signed a deal to play for the Bundesliga side.
\nSchalke confirmed that the 24-year-old signed a deal that leaves him at the club until June 2014. \u201cThe Ghanaian international has joined the Royal Blues with immediate effect, having put pen to paper on a contract until 30 June 2014,\u201d a statement on Schalke\u2019s website read.
\nThe German side signed the Ghanaian World Cup midfielder to augment their squad after a disappointing season which has left them in the middle of the table.
\nSchalke gave no financial details of the transfer but Ghanasoccernet.com understands that the German side US$4m for the services of the midfielder. Annan has 30 Ghana caps and represented his country at the 2010 World Cup.
