The mystery mother of Cristiano Ronaldo’s baby is DEAD, the striker’s sister has bizarrely claimed. Katia Aveiro, 33, spoke out as she denied stories about the woman’s identity – but did not explain when or how she had died.
\nShe said in an interview: “There is no woman calling him. There is no mother, no telephone calls, nothing. His mother died. The baby doesn’t have a mother.” When the ex-Man United ace revealed last July he’d become a dad, he said the mother wanted to stay secret. He said the boy, called Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, would be under his “exclusive guardianship”.
\nPortuguese media claimed the \u00a3200,000-a-week Real Madrid star, 25 – who is dating Russian underwear model Irina Shayk, also 25 – had paid a surrogate in the US to have the baby.
\nBut last month a British Sunday newspaper claimed the mum was a 20-year-old UK student who had a one-night stand with the Portuguese striker. She accepted \u00a310million from the world’s top-paid footballer to give up her rights as a parent, the paper claimed. But it said she then changed her mind and called Ronaldo, demanding to see the boy. The star reportedly told pals he was worried she’d try to take his son away. But Katia dismissed the UK reports as “nonsense”.
\nShe said Ronaldo’s mum Dolores, 55, was raising the child as her own. She wouldn’t discuss surrogacy claims but told a Portuguese magazine: “The boy is ours. I’m not going to say how he arrived with us. But I guarantee he’s my brother’s son, my nephew, from our blood. His mother is my mother, who is the person who is with him 24 hours a day.” The family has said the baby was born in the US on June 17. Critics have accused the footballer of jettting around the world with Irina, leaving the baby behind.
\nBut Katia said: “He’s the most important thing in my brother’s life.”
