The Akim Oda Magistrate Court has sentenced Kwabena Aniagyei, a farmer, to a fine of GH\u00a2100 for stealing 10 bags of charcoal, in default he would serve a 12 month prison term in hard labour.
\nThe court has ordered Aniagyei who pleaded guilty to stealing, to pay additional amount of GH\u00a264.00 in respect of eight bags of the charcoal. Asi Manu, a trader, who pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving the goods has been bonded to be of good behaviour for six months, failure for which she would pay GH\u00a2100, in default, would go to prison for 12 months in hard labour.
\nAsi was ordered by the court to pay GH\u00a216.00 for the two bags of charcoal that she unlawfully purchased.Police Chief Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah told the court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that both Aniagyei and Asi live at Akim Asene and that on January 6, this year the complainant, Mr Kwaku Ahenkorah noticed that his 10 bags of charcoal parked by the roadside had been stolen.
\nChief Inspector Ahenkorah said the complainant\u2019s own investigation revealed that there was one bag of the charcoal in Asi\u2019s house and therefore, made a report to the police, who arrested her, adding when interrogated her, she mentioned Aniagyei as having sold them to her.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
