Some members of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem National Democratic Congress (NDC) have described as unfortunate negative campaigns being organised by some party members and constituency executives for the removal of Mrs. Christina Kobinah, the Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa.
\nThis was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Joseph Abban Mensah, Constituency Propaganda Secretary, Hajiah Nawah Rashid Nsoh, Constituency Women\u2019s Organiser, Alhaji Dauda Sulemana, a Council of State Member and Dr George Agyei, Former assembly member of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
\nThey appealed to the President to send a fact-finding mission to the Tarkwa-Nsuaem municipality to ascertain the truth or otherwise of the numerous allegations levelled against the MCE. The statement said personal differences, disregard for laid down civil service rules and unsubstantiated allegations of giving contracts to New Patriotic Party (NPP) members as some of the reasons cited by some constituency executives for the removal of the MCE from office. \u201cThese allegations are baseless, unsubstantiated and it is calculated at disrupting the infrastructural development of Tarkwa and its environs,\u201d it said.
\nThe statement said Mrs. Kobinah had demonstrated visionary leadership, administered the municipality through transparency and logic and avoided extremist acts that could have affected the total development of Tarkwa-Nsuaem. \u201cAs a human being, she cannot be perfect and personal problems should never be confused with constitutional and political responsibilities,\u201d it said.
\nThe statement said Mrs. Kobinah had worked closely with all party officials and civil servants under her and therefore urged the President to consider carefully the effect of any reshuffle in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality. \u201cUnder the leadership of the MCE, the Tarkwa-Na-Aboso stadium has been renovated, while the poor road network is presently under construction,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
