He however stated out of the blue that he was grateful to the former First Lady, Konadu Agyemang Rawlings; adding that Mrs Rawlings was the one that paid for his ticket for recent trip to the US.<br \/>\nPrior to the 2008 general elections, Lucky Mensah composed a song, \u201cCome to NDC\u201d for the National Democratic Congress, then in opposition. So many people didn\u2019t understand why he would turn around to do a song that easily lends itself as an attack against President Atta Mils. However, bearing in mind that the former First Lady has subtly hinted that she may run for the flag bearer position of the NDC for the next presidential election, it is open to interpretation whatever reason the musician had for making the song -whether it was out of gratitude or cleverly solicited!<br \/>\nThe song and its music video paint a picture of Lucky Mensah going through hardships under an unbearable economy but he describes the song as a wake-up call to people at the helm of affairs in any given field of endeavour; calling on them to be responsible and dedicated to their work.<br \/>\nIn the TV interview, Lucky Mensah distanced himself from politics saying he is a musician who is open to do business with all irrespective of political or business links. He therefore wished that Ghanaians would be able to make that distinction and not be politically blind to his music.
