{"id":274257,"date":"2011-01-17T06:57:08","date_gmt":"2011-01-17T06:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/?p=48034"},"modified":"2011-01-17T06:57:08","modified_gmt":"2011-01-17T06:57:08","slug":"vice-president-mahama-appeals-to-ndc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/01\/17\/vice-president-mahama-appeals-to-ndc\/","title":{"rendered":"Vice President Mahama Appeals To NDC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure id=\"attachment_32651\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32651\" style=\"width: 215px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-32651\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2010\/11\/12\/veep-strikes-deal-for-knust-engineering-students-in-czech-republic\/veep_johnmahama-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32651\" title=\"veep_johnmahama\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/veep_johnmahama.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32651\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vice President John Mahama <\/figcaption><\/figure><br \/>\nVice President John Dramani Mahama,  has appealed to officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to  support the Executive to fulfil the dreams of President John Evans Atta  Mills \u201cBetter Ghana\u201d agenda.<br \/>\n\u201cParty executives should not be  a hindrance to administration, just like I expect the Ministers,  Members of Parliament, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief  Executives to collaborate effectively with the party hierarchy to  achieve developmental goals.\u201d<br \/>\nVice President Mahama made the  appeal when he addressed members of the NDC in Obuasi in the Ashanti  Region as part of a day\u2019s official visit to the Municipality.The meeting  attracted NDC members from Adansi North, Adansi South, Adansi Central  and Obuasi Municipality. \u201cWe promised to serve the people of Ghana  better and that is why\u2026 four million Ghanaians voted for us and we  cannot afford to continue wasting our useful time on petty quarrels.\u201d<br \/>\nOn the fuel price increment he said under the prevailing  circumstance the only option at the time was to increase prices of some  petroleum products. \u201cNo good leader will be happy to see his subjects  suffering and I want to assure you that government did not increase fuel  prices to punish any of you.\u201d He promised the people of Obuasi that  government would work on all their town roads as part of a Chinese road  support loan.<br \/>\nThe Vice President called on Ministers and  Chief executives who were recently relieved of their positions to  continue to support the ideals of NDC government to win subsequent  elections.\u201cThe reshuffle in government does not mean incompetence, for  your services will definitely be needed somewhere else.<br \/>\nMr  Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural  Development called on agitating members of the NDC to exercise restraint  as government was poised in satisfying their needs.\u201cGovernment cannot  serve all of you at the same time and I know that at the right time you  will feel and get your share of the \u201cBetter Ghana\u201d agenda.<br \/>\nHe attributed the slow take off government in fulfilling its promises to  the empty national coffers the NDC inherited.He said government had  over the years managed to stabilise the economy and was beginning this  year with action as promised by the President Mills.<br \/>\nMr John  Alexander Ackon, Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive promised to work hard  for NDC to win the Obuasi constituency seat and provide development  projects to the people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President John Dramani Mahama, has appealed to officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to support the Executive to fulfil the dreams of President John Evans Atta Mills \u201cBetter Ghana\u201d agenda. \u201cParty executives should not be a hindrance to administration, just like I expect the Ministers, Members of Parliament, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-274257","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.0 -
